A Beginner’s Guide To Vaping

Chances are, you’ve landed on this article because you’re curious about the vast world of vaping. Perhaps, you’re trying to quit smoking cigarettes. Maybe you’re thinking of picking up a new hobby and want to decide if vaping is the right fit for you. Or maybe you’re simply intrigued about how vapes work and want a better understanding of the topic. Whatever the case is, we’re here to give you a general outline that’ll answer some of your primary questions.

Over time, electronic cigarettes have been adopted as an alternative to smoking traditional cigarettes due to one essential difference - electronic cigarettes don’t have the 4,000+ chemicals (of which more than 70 cause cancer) that regular cigarettes contain. This is the main reason why millions of smokers have switched to using e-cigarettes, also known as vaping.

“So how exactly does a vape work?” you might ask. Fundamentally, a battery source (vape mod), powers a heating element called a coil. This in turn vaporizes e-liquid, commonly known as e-juice or vape juice, in a small chamber called an atomizer that’s (in most cases) attached inside a tank. The tank provides convenience since e-liquid can directly supply the atomizer, allowing the user to vape for an extended period of time without having to tinker with their device.

All of these components put together ultimately enable the user to inhale the vapor through the mouthpiece on their vape. There are several different types of vape mods and atomizers available on the market, as the industry has evolved substantially since e-cigarettes were first introduced.

One of the main ingredients in e-liquid is nicotine, although it is completely optional. Users typically reduce the amount of nicotine in their e-juice gradually to lower their dependency, which is why there are different types of liquid blends such as freebase nicotine and salt nicotine. We offer both varieties for all of our tobacco products so that you can find the right juice for yourself.

Additionally, Propylene Glycol (PG) and Vegetable Glycerin (VG) are two non-toxic ingredients that are also found in e-juices. PG is a thin liquid that’s found in many food products as a flavor carrier, whereas VG is a sweet, thick, vegetable-based liquid. PG gives flavors more intensity and is harsher on the throat, while VG has a lower throat hit and provides more vapor density. As a result, both are combined in e-liquids to create an optimal blend.

The last main ingredient in e-liquids is flavoring from the food industry. There are hundreds of different flavors available on the market that range from fruit flavors to types of cereal. Unfortunately, the flavor ban that has been implemented in several states has affected the vape industry severely. At Four Seasons, we take pride in not using any artificial flavors, colors, sweeteners, or additives. All of our products are naturally flavored with real tobacco.

Although there are more intricacies to grasp in the vaping industry, this is a general overview that serves as an introduction to novice enthusiasts. Stay tuned for future articles and if you have any questions about our product, feel free to reach out to us here!
